Day 4 - Pokemon, Imperial Gardens and SkyTree

Started my day with a 15k hill climb work out which woke me up for sure.
We managed to have a lovely sunny day although the wind was fresh enough. I believe it got up to 11C....

This morning after a breakfast of toast, peanut cream, coffee and yogurt we headed off for the Pokemon Centre for all things Pokemon

After that we had a bite to eat at Subway because it was convenient and we were there. Needless to say it is done a little differently in Japan and you can also order oven potatoes - which were pretty good. These were a serve!
After Pokemon goods were purchased it was off to the Imperial Palace Gardens
Entrance

Gates

Fish statue

Guard house

Walls around palace

another of the 3 remaining guard house

Moat

We had a nice time wandering about and taking photos.

After this it was off to Sky Tree http://www.tokyo-skytree.jp/en/
which is apparently the words tallest tower at 634m.

Firstly, a flower Christmas tree out the front... was very pretty despite the fake flowers

And the tower ( I had to lie on the ground for this shot!)
Caity for scale
We only went to the first viewing platform which was high enough for us

We had planned to get there just before sun set to see the changes...
Sumida river

Yes, that is Mt Fuji

Night lights

Tokyo Tower

After all that excitement it was back to Shinjuku and dinner on the way home that consisted of...
Beer

Delicious ramen

Gyoza
Then it was computer and green tea ice cream (me) and warm milk tea and Pocky (Caity) and bed ready for Kyoto adventures tomorrow.....
